And why we ignore it.
Hi! It’s Charluxx.
It’s the holidays around much of the planet and a time when we hear stories and songs about Peace on Earth and goodwill to all. I love it. But, looking at the current political “situations” and election “results” of the last few years, a general unease creeps in.
Case in point: I genuinely though British people were smarter than their United States brethren, who somehow thought it was a good idea to elect Donald Trump. But I have serious cause for doubt seeing they thought it was a good idea to elect Boris Johnson, whose name is an anagram for Donal Trump... well it really isn’t, but it might just as well be, they are the same idiot! I have also lost faith in Brazilians since they decided the best course of action was to promote Jair Bolsonaro to president, or the Filipinos for choosing Rodrigo Duterte as their representative!
It makes me wonder...
Why don’t we listen to people that make sense?
Not just a little sense “to seem genuine” but real, unbiased, unfiltered, authentic and common sense.
The reason we listen to people that make no sense at all and outrageously lie is simple: they have better marketing.
Think about it.
Rich people got together and figured out that to control a population you have do so through their toughs. First, you put them in their place: you don’t educate them properly, you control the medias, you control the heard (pun intended.) You limit access to basic healthcare. Then, you get them to recite your story. You sell them water.
Marketing on a national and global scale requires money.
Why do you think most politicians are old white men? They come from money.
Pretty. Much. All. Of. Them.
Why do you think most corporations are ruled by old white men and women? Again: money.
I’ll say it again: these people comprise 1% of the world’s population, but control most of the money, and therefore have power... They own all the major corporations, they own most of the medias, they get elected. In short, they get to decide and dictate what they want you to know and to believe. So, they control education and communication. That is a very lethal double-edged sword.
You’ve probably noticed that we’re living in a world where reason is a waste of time. Wander not. Your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts about how the world really is and should be don’t faze them: they control that too. Sad to say but true.
Ironically—and this is something the powers that be fear—modern day communications and all its social medias is another double-edged sword: it can be used for change, unfortunately for both good and evil. The Rohingya genocide in Myanmar (Burma) was facilitated and abetted by Facebook, but so was the Arab Spring. It is responsible for most of the world’s elections processes being meddled and influenced by Russians, to their geopolitical advantage of course. But it is also bringing awareness, and will hopefully help us tackle some of the biggest challenges we face as a species: human rights violations and genocides, climate change, massive deforestation, the oil, the meat, and the drug industries.
Just be weary that you can easily be controlled.
Use due diligence
These are two of the most important things I learned in University that have served me best throughout the years:
- Don’t believe what you read and hear to be correct: just because you read or heard it somewhere does not make it so.
- When in doubt (you should always be so) do a quick search on the Internet, double and triple check, consult and verify the source(s)!..
We have the tremendous chance to live in a moment in time when we literally hold humankind’s knowledge in the palm of our hands. I refer to my phone as “The Oracle.” (Did you know more people on this planet own a mobile phone than a toothbrush?)
Does this make sense to you?
Now, tell me, why did you vote for?..
What to take from this text as a resolution for the coming year(s)?
Again, two things:
- Use social medias to create a network to educate people about changes for good: what we can all do to make the world the better place it should be.
- Vote. And vote humanely, vote green, it’s the only way the planet will survive: money (currency) will always be, the environment that sustains us will not.
Use your holidays dose of goodwill and change the world. YOU can do it. One post at the time.
Peace and Love,
