Hi! It's Charluxx.
This song means a lot to me because of the lack thereof in our world today where the extreme right has taken over so many countries on this wonderful little planet off ours. Brazil, Russia, the Philippines, the provinces of Alberta and Ontario here in Canada, and make no mistakes, the USA has a fascist regime in place with a white supremacist at its head. Just to name a few.
Why is this the case? Because these people are backed by powerful and organized interest groups with nefarious agendas. Like the evil depicted in most religions, they disguise themselves and lure you in with false pretences. They already have all the money. Now they want our soul. They need to enslave us totally. That is the reason behind their rise to power. Only by removing all our collective remaining rights will they feel they have achieved their goal. They start with education and indoctrinating our children. They brainwash the mass by controlling a lot of the medias. Beware of the nonsense and fake smiles.
We need to understand. We need to stop electing white old men to decide for everyone. We don't trust our grandfathers to handle or understand smart phones (or TV remotes) yet we elect them and trust them with our future. Seriously people, WTF?
So, what can YOU do?
Do your research. Educate your kids. Read medias that are independent, like The Guardian. Double-check the sources. Dismiss what insults your intelligence. Due diligence is key. Share messages of love and hope. VOTE. Get involved in your community. Do not tolerate hate, bigotry, sexism, racism. Speak up against it, you will feel better and hopefully make someone understand, wake them up gently but firmly. Vote for women, vote for youth, vote for people that understand and represent your community, vote for "minorities." Do not vote for anyone that takes money from corporations, period (you can find this information the internet.) Together we CAN change this world.
As for me, I'm using my voice, my words, and my actions thanks to my platform as a musician.
Justice is the first song of many that is uplifting yet carries a strong social message. More songs will follow very soon: We Got This, Facts, Resist, and others.
We need social reforms now more than ever. We need to "Rock the boat so we can get some calm" to paraphrase myself.
The artwork for the single is a drawing from a child (a neighbour of my dad's) whose permission I have to use it (thank you!) For me, it captures so much: the lines evoke musical wavelengths, the raised hand that is reaching for Love, the heart breaking off its chains and being set free.
Peace and Love,
This isn’t pretty: the human race is speeding towards extinction. We need to correct our course.
We cannot wait another day to act, the future is now: we shape it daily.
If we don’t act we do not have control, anything can happen.
Justice was inspired by an article I read in The Guardian entitled One in 200 people is a slave. Why?
After reading it I just couldn’t stay silent, that is why I wrote Justice.
Slavery in this modern age is very insidious. It has many shapes. Look at the prison system in the USA, really look at it. It will shock you.
The monster Jeff Bezos, owner (were you have owners... you have slaves) of Amazon (boycott Amazon!) and the richest man in history pays his “employees” such a meager wage that not only do they work in a highly stressful environment under terrible working conditions, but a lot of them have to resort to food stamps to survive. You might say that they have a choice and not work there. The truth of it is that a lot of people lack the proper education (thanks to the Governments: it is much easier to control an uneducated population) and skills to work anything else that manual labor jobs. Just because a salary is attached does not make it any less slavery.
I dedicate this song to all my fellow human beings that are being held in a captive state. Physically and mentally. You are in my thoughts. My heart aches for you.
Peace and Love,
